The concept of Jitta Yatra originates from Eastern philosophy, particularly Buddhist thought, concerning the “inner journey” — a process through which the mind moves from the state of an ordinary bein toward liberation or Nirvana. This journey is not a physical movement but a passage through the dimensions of consciousness and time, guided by the practices of samatha and vipassanā. The exhibition is inspired by the writings of Venerable Piyadhassi Bhikkhu, particularly The Path to the End of Time, which suggests that “time” serves as a boundary of mental perception. The path to liberation, therefore, is a process of transcending this temporal boundary to enter a state of “timelessness” — Akaliko — a condition of profound stillness unbound by past or future. From this perspective, external time reflects the human world, full of striving, desire, love, greed, anger, and delusion. The inward journey, in contrast, follows the Majjhimā Paṭipadā — the Middle Way — the path leading to the cessation of suffering. This journey can be illustrated as a seven-layered circular diagram, moving from the periphery toward the timeless center.
Building upon this meditative framework, the artist has created an installation that materializes the inner journey of consciousness through the dimension of time, from the outer edge of temporality to the central void that signifies the state of Nirvana. This work continues from the project Earth Bound Mode, exhibited at the Jogja Biennale 17, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2023). Earth-dyed textiles from the previous work were reused, carving floral motifs on ten pieces and creating fourteen additional pieces, forming a total of twenty-four components, now assembled into a complete installation. “Earth” is chosen as the primary medium, representing the element of birth and dissolution — the body returns to the earth at death, and all living beings arise from the same elemental matter. Earth thus embodies the cyclical nature of saṃsāra and the intrinsic relationship between matter, time, and consciousness. Painting with earth becomes not merely an act of image-making but an act of meditation — a process of inscribing the mind’s perception with each breath. When the eyes close in contemplation, phenomena of light and form appear within the mind, akin to the visual manifestations of meditative concentration, guiding the practitioner toward insight.
Jitta Yatra thus embodies both an “inner pilgrimage” and an “exploration of temporal landscape” — an artistic meditation on the passage from ordinary consciousness to a state of timeless awareness. It is a journey through which the mind becomes freed from fabrication, entering the stillness of Akaliko, and touching upon the eternal truth of existence itself.

แนวคิดของ Jitta Yatra พัฒนาจากปรัชญาตะวันออกในแนวพุทธศาสนา ว่าด้วย “การเดินทางภายใน” กระบวนการนําพาจิ ตจากสภาวะของมนุษย์ปุถุชนสู่ความหลุดพ้นหรื อนิ พพาน การเดินทางนี้ไม่ใช่การ เคลื่อนไหวทางกาย แต่เป็นการเดินทางของจิตผ่านเวลา โดยมี การฝึกสมาธิ และวิปัสสนาเป็นเครื่องมือ สําคัญนิทรรศการได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากแนวคิดของพระอาจารย์ ปิยะทัสสี ภิกขุ ในหนังสือขอบเขต การรับรู้ของจิต (The Path to the End of Time) ซึRงเสนอว่า “เวลา” เป็นขอบเขตของการรับรู้ทางจิต การ ปฏิบัติเพืRอความหลุดพ้นจึงเป็นการก้าวข้ามขอบเขตของเวลาเข้าสู่สภาวะ “ไร้กาลเวลา” หรือ อกาลิ โก ภาวะแห่งความสงบทีRไม่ขึPนกับอดีตหรืออนาคต มุมมองนีPชีPให้เห็นว่าเวลาในโลกภายนอกสะท้อนความ ดิ Pนรน ความรั ก ความโกรธ ความโลภ และความหลง ส่ วนภายในคื อการเดิ นทางของจิ ตตาม แนวทาง มัชฌิมาปฏิปทา — หนทางแห่งความพ้นทุกข์ การเดินทางนีPสามารถอธิบายเป็นวงกลม 7 ชัPน แสดงลํ าดั บจากภายนอกสู่ ศู นย์ กลางแห่ งความว่ างและไร้ กาลเวลา
ศิลปินสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน installation จําลองการเดินทางของจิตภายในมิติแห่งเวลา จากขอบนอกของกาล เข้าสู่ศูนย์กลางแห่งความว่าง เพืRอสืRอถึงภาวะแห่งนิพพาน ผลงานชุดนีPต่อยอดจากโครงการ Earth Bound Mode ทีR จั ดแสดงใน Jogja Biennale 17 เมื องยอกยาการ์ ตา ประเทศอิ นโดนี เซี ย (2023) โดยนํ าผ้ าย้ อมดิ น จากผลงานเดิมมาสลักลายพรรณพฤกษา 10 ชิPน และสร้างเพิRมอีก 14 ชิPน รวมเป็น 24 ชิPน จัดวางเป็น องค์ประกอบของ installation ทีRสมบูรณ์ในครัPงนีP “ดิน” ถูกเลือกเป็นวัสดุหลักในฐานะธาตุแห่งการเกิดดับ ของชีวิต — ร่างกายเมืRอสิPนย่อมคืนสู่ดิน และสิRงมีชีวิตทัPงหลายเกิดจากธาตุเดียวกัน ดินจึงสืRอถึงวัฏจักร แห่ งสั งสาระ และความสั มพั นธ์ ระหว่ างสสาร เวลา และจิ ตสํ านึ ก การสร้ างภาพด้ วยดิ นจึ งมิ ใช่ เพี ยงการวาด แต่คือการภาวนา — การ “จารึก” การรับรู้ของจิตในแต่ละลมหายใจ เมืRอหลับตาภาวนา ปรากฏการณ์ของ แสงและรูปทรงในจิตปรากฏดุจภาพสมาธิ นําไปสู่ปัญญา
